Gestalt Therapy

The gestalt method

Gestalt therapy is a humanistic approach that emphasizes awareness, present-moment experience, and the organization of perceptions into meaningful shapes. It invites us to explore how we perceive and make sense of our world, encouraging us to see from different angles and discover new meanings.

Focused on what is happening here and now, Gestalt therapy can help you uncover patterns, deepen your self-awareness, and foster authentic contact with yourself and others. It is practical, direct and effective, providing simple yet powerful tools to navigate life’s short and precious moments. Through this process, you can unlock new perspectives, foster personal growth, and find a greater sense of wholeness in your life.

Two hands, connected by thread

Change occurs when one becomes what they are, not when they try to become what they are not.

GROUP WORK

Group work in Gestalt therapy offers a great opportunity for individuals to deepen self-awareness, improve relational skills, and experience meaningful connection in a safe space. The method emphasizes present moment relational awareness, viewing people as resourceful and capable of growth. Rather than focusing on pathology, the gestalt approach highlights how small changes in contact such as shifts in tone or timing can lead to meaningful transformation. Patterns like avoidance or control are seen as adaptive strategies that, when brought into awareness, can open new possibilities for connection.

In group settings, participants are encouraged to share their real-time experiences, explore relational dynamics, experiment with new ways of engaging, and offer feedback in a supportive, non-judgmental space. This fosters deeper self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and more fulfilling relationships.

I offer group work in person in Zürich. If you would like to get notified when I am bringing together a new group, you are welcome to sign up to my newsletter.

If you are someone who leads or curates a group and would like to explore how gestalt could be of use, do not hesitate to send me an email. I am curious to learn more and open to collaborate.
